I’m sorry for the short notice for this meeting, but details have only just been finalised.
Sr Juunza Mwangani of the Holy Spirit Sisters is visiting the UK from Monze Diocese in Zambia.
On the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Mary (9th June), she gave an excellent talk at the Extended Family Gathering in Carlisle about her work as the Hospital Administrator at the Monze Mission Hospital in the Southern District of Zambia, and her life as one of the Holy Spirit Sisters – the order that Sr Pierre, Sr Moira, and others helped to form. Our new bishop, Paul Swarbrick, also worked out there for several years, as did Fr Jerome Ainsworth who served here in St Columba’s back in the ‘70s.
Sr Juunza is visiting Barrow at the end of this week to visit the schools that support their mission in Zambia and to meet up with the people of Barrow and Furness who still support their work.
All parishioners from Furness, Supporters of the Holy Spirit Sisters, and the SHM Extended Family are invited to come and hear Sr Juunza talk about her work at the Holy Spirit Sisters’ Mission Hospital at Choma.
The meeting will start at 7pm and, after Sr Juunza’s talk, there will be time for Questions and Answers to find out more about her work, the Order, their Mission, the hospital, and the people of Monze Diocese. Afterwards, there will be a chance for a chat over a cup of tea or coffee and biscuits.
Please pass on the message to other people who may be interested in coming along – by email or by word of mouth.
Having listened to her in Carlisle, I can assure you of an interesting session.
